The Flex Audiology Show – Episode 18 – Workers Appointments and 4-Speed Diner

03/03/2025 | Flex Audiology Show, Patient Resources

Our Workers Appointments are designed with your comfort in mind; you’re a busy professional, and we want to help you make time to take care of your health amid your many responsibilities in your life.

It’s time for another episode of The Flex Audiology Show! I’m excited to reveal a new type of appointment we’ve been trying out called the Workers Appointments and to share my thoughts on the 4-Speed Diner here in Lawrenceburg.

Let’s get into it!

Workers Appointments – For the 9-to-5ers

If you’re like me as part of the working world, it can be difficult to find time to book in appointments for medical check-ups.

Taking time off work isn’t feasible for some individuals (and who wants to use vacation days for medical appointments?), but it’s important to get your health checked out when you need it – especially your hearing health.

That’s why we’ve started offering Workers Appointments, specifically for those of us in the workforce that need to find time for their medical appointments without getting up at the crack of dawn to attend them.

Now while it’s important to note that I won’t be in the clinic until 2AM each night, we’ll make something work with a fifteen-minute check-in; whether you come to visit us on your lunch break or at 4:30 when you finish early, we’ll find time to squeeze you in around your busy schedule.

In those quick fifteen minutes, we’ll discuss your hearing challenges and what we can do to help, whether that be through a long form hearing assessment or hearing aids

With the help of our nice little questionnaire that we’ve crafted, our team has had a 95% success rate at picking out the right technology for patients in Workers Appointments!

After the 15-minute check-in appointment, you may be required to come in to see us for a 90-minute hearing assessment, but you can rest assured that we’ll collect as much information about your hearing health as we possibly can, including your levels of hearing loss and whether earwax impaction could be to blame.

We can fit you with the devices we chose for you on the same day as your 90-minute assessment so you won’t have to take later time off for different appointments.

Our Workers Appointments are designed with your comfort in mind; you’re a busy professional, and we want to help you make time to take care of your health amid your many responsibilities in your life.

In follow-up appointments for further care and maintenance, we can connect remotely to your hearing devices through your cellphone and make quick adjustments as needed for quick fixes on your lunch break.

It’s really slick technology, and I’m excited to bring it to more people that need help with their hearing!

Praise for 4-Speed on 50s Diner

Located just two blocks away from our Lawrenceburg location is an old school diner called 4-Speed on 50s Diner. You’ve probably seen it on your way to and from appointments with us, but if you haven’t tried it, here’s your sign!

I brought my family to give it a try, and their extensive menu was impressive. We decided to try a little bit of everything we felt like, so the kids stuck with breakfast food like French toast and pancakes, but my husband and I decided to branch out.

He got the country-fried steak, which looked (and smelled) incredible, but the winner of the entire meal for me was their deviled eggs! They were so different to anything I had ever eaten before in the best way possible, and the appetizer was huge – next time I go for a visit, I might just get deviled eggs…

We got some milkshakes as well, and the Dreamsicle milkshake was absolutely delicious. My one thing I was upset about? I didn’t have room for pie afterwards, and their case full of pies looked so delicious!

If you’ve visited 4-Speed Diner before, let me know what you think of it! I’d love to hear your recommendations. We were so full after our meal, but we’re excited to go back and try new things!
